South Main Redevelopment

The vision for this site is one focused on a diversity of uses that will complement Downtown Brighton. The goal of this redevelopment is to create a gateway, extending active uses from Downtown as well as drawing residents up from
Bromley Lane. South Main Street is envisioned as a mixed-use area with rich diversity to achieve this goal. The realignment of South Main Street with Bromley Lane not only provides improved connectivity and access between existing commercial and residential uses within the adjacent vicinity and Downtown Brighton but also improves emergency access. This redevelopment (once completed all along South Main Street) will provide pedestrian amenities and civic gathering places to create a sense of place for the community, connectivity between the surrounding residential districts and increased access for the citizens of Brighton. The vision for South Main Street is to enhance the area’s existing amenities and promote redevelopment by providing incentives in addition to a clear, predictable regulatory environment designed to foster the development of a mixed-use, community centered district.
