Susan Stanton is the newly appointed President/CEO of Brighton Economic Development Corporation.

Prior to her appointment, Susan was vice president of the Denver International Airport (DIA) Partnership, a public, private and community leadership organization that worked to promote economic opportunity and quality-of-life in the business district adjacent to DIA.

Susan began her career in airport marketing and economic development in 1989 and worked with DIA from ground breaking to completion. For presentations to airlines, she conducted market studies on area companies and the regional economy. She spent several years marketing and leasing DIA's cargo facilities, which were 90 percent occupied on opening day.

After the airport opened in 1995, she helped establish the DIA Partnership to recruit investment in the surrounding business district. Since 1996, Susan has worked with companies such as Federal Express, Hilton, Marriott, Fujitsu, EchoStar, The L’Oreal Group and CAE Aviation Training.

Susan holds a Bachelors degree in International Studies and a Masters degree in Technology Management from the University of Denver.

She is a member of the Urban Land Institute, CORENET, NAIOP, ICSC and the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation. Susan also serves on the Nunez Foundation, a scholarship program for underprivileged youth in Northeast metro Denver. She is past president of the Economic Developers Council of Colorado, a statewide organization that represents the economic development interests of more than 100 communities and councils.

Susan was among the “Denver Forty under 40,” the list of promising young business executives compiled annually by the Denver Business Journal. She has spoken locally and nationally on business development issues.

Teri Sanchez joined Brighton Economic Development Corporation in 2001. Working with a group of volunteer business owners, she established the Brighton Small Business Resource Center in 2003. The center received DIA Partnership's prestigious “Sky is the Limit” award in 2004. 

Teri's background is in training and curriculum development. She has conducted training throughout Region VIII and has owned several small businesses.

As a member of the organization's team, Teri is responsible for scheduling meetings, doing marketing support and research, and assisting with major projects such as company expansion/retention, site selection conferences, Web site research, Small Business Resource Center programs and special events.

She manages new content and updates for www.brightonedc.org , the corporation's official website . She also handles department logistics and is a primary point of contact for customers, investors and partners.
