Employment more than doubled from 1990-2000, and is expected to reach 25,000 jobs by the end of the decade.

Job distribution is concentrated in government, manufacturing, wholesale, retail and transportation/communications/utilities.

Over the past 13 years, more than 600 businesses, employing 3,300 workers, have started in or relocated to Brighton.

Adams County accounts for 16% of the total labor force in the Denver metro area. With total employment of nearly 196,000, Adams County is a significant contributor to the total employment in the Denver metro area.

Employment growth has mirrored population growth in Brighton. Employment more than doubled between 1990 and 2000, reaching nearly 10,500. Employment is projected to increase at an even faster rate between 2000 and 2010, reaching nearly 25,000 by the end of the decade. Another 10,000 jobs are projected to be added between 2010 and 2020.

The school district covers approximately 210 square miles and serves the entire city of Brighton and portions of Commerce City and Thornton as well as sections of unincorporated Adams, Weld and Broomfield counties.
