A new 2,000-employee Adams County campus is underway in Brighton, the county seat of largely undeveloped Adams County, which is the size of the State of Rhode Island. Brighton Receives $2 Million State DOLA Grant; Funds to be used to Improve Access to New Vestas Campus

The City of Brighton has been notified by the State of Colorado Department of Local Affairs, DOLA, that it has been approved to receive a two million dollar grant to assist in making about eight million dollars of infrastructure and roadway improvements to Weld County Roads 4 and 6.
The announcement was made by DOLA Executive Director Susan E. Kirkpatrick. The funds were awarded to Brighton from the state’s severance tax and mineral lease revenues. “This cycle has been extremely competitive with requests totaling $50,415,158 and less than half of that available to award,” she stated in extending the offer to make the grant..... Raymond H. Gonzales, president and CEO, Brighton Economic Development Corp., has been appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter to serve on the Colorado Workforce Development Council.
Gonzales most recently was deputy cabinet secretary/chief operating officer of the $53 million per year, 600-person executive department of New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s cabinet.
