(The following are APPROVED comments regarding the planned announcement by Vestas that it has selected Brighton for a major new wind turbine manufacturing facility.)
APPROVED BRIGHTON COMMENTS:
•Vestas is the type of 21st Century corporation that Brighton welcomes as a partner in helping improve life in the community.
•Brighton this year was named the #2 highest-growth place of note in the U.S. by the Gadberry Group, a leading market intelligence firm:
•for our population growth,
•but also, our richly diverse community
•and rising household incomes
•The decision by Vestas to establish a major operation in Brighton affirms that the City is growing in its attraction to corporations and people seeking a strategic or convenient place to do business or live close to Denver International Airport, E-470, metro Denver and the Western U.S.
•We are proud of our part in the public-private partnership that convinced Vestas that Brighton is a great location for such a forward-thinking company that cares about sustainability as we do:
•Thanks to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development & Intl. Trade
•Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation
•Weld County and Upstate Colorado Economic Development
•Regional Transportation District
•And the Brighton Economic Development Corporation
•The City of Brighton has agreed to sell 112 acres of City-owned land along state highway 85 about two miles north of our historic downtown districts to Vestas.
•Brighton Economic Development Council will be in touch with more information about the full economic opportunities that will develop in conjunction with this latest example of why Brighton was named the #2 highest-growth place of note in the U.S.
