New Tanks, Same Great Beer

May 3, 2018

Something Brewery opened their doors in Brighton, Colorado just a little more than two years ago. In that short amount of time, the three owners David Allegrezza, Brian Castillo, and Dustin Christopher (pictured from L to R) have not only added some vibrancy to our growing Downtown District but they have also added some great beers.

Earlier this year the brewery applied for our Brighton Investment Program. The program provides one-time, project related, financial assistance on a reimbursement basis, to encourage growth and retention of existing Brighton businesses. Their application, which highlighted the progress that their business has made as well as plans for the future, was accepted and shortly after new tanks to brew more great beer were installed.

After awarding the money, we were able to sit down and learn more about Something Brewery and how this grant money will help their business. You can check that out below. If you have more questions, you can visit Something Brewery's website

1.  How is the company doing generally? What's new?

We are currently in our 3rd year of operation and we feel like we’re finally hitting our stride. The first few years we did not have enough production capacity to meet the needs of our taproom sales. We currently are getting ready to increase our production to meet the needs of our taproom and include outside sales in liquor stores and taprooms.

2. What specifically did the grant money help you accomplish?  How did/will it impact Something Brewery?

The grant money will help increase our production capacity. We added two new 10bbl tanks that are 310 gallons a piece which equals to an increase of 1,240 gallons a month and 14,880 gallons a year. This will help us keep beers up on the menu board in the taproom and help us focus on outside sales to liquor stores and other taprooms, which is also one of our best advertising methods.

3. What are your plans for Something Brewery going forward?

Currently our plans are to take over another part of our building. We currently have our taproom and brewing space all in the same building. When available, we would like to takeover the basement of our building. This would allow us to move production downstairs and open up a large patio in the back. We would also be able to turn our current production space into more seating space and hopefully a music stage.
