COMMUNITY INVITED TO PITCH COMPETITION CELEBRATING SMALL BUSINESSES AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Brighton, CO – StartUp North, the first-ever Adams County business pitch competition, is designed to bring together the top entrepreneurial talent from the Adams County community to showcase some of our great small businesses and startups.

StartUp North invites the community to attend the competition on Thursday, November, 8 starting at 3 p.m. at the Brighton Armory Performing Arts Center (300 Strong Street Brighton, CO). All 13 municipalities in the County as well as various community organizations are partners in StartUp North.

In August, the StartUp North Steering Committee put a call out to all eligible Adams County businesses to apply for the competition. After a three-step vetting process, the top three businesses will be invited to pitch on November 8.

All three of the companies who pitch will be able to walk away with cash prizes – the winner will be awarded $15,000, second place will win $5,000 and third place will score $2,340. All prize funds were raised through private donations.

Part of the prize package also includes in-kind services donated by Lewis & Brisbrois and Honest Films.

As keynote, Lani Dolifka, President/CEO of Watermill Express, will speak about her entrepreneurial journey.

Everyone is invited to attend this event to celebrate small business and entrepreneurship in Adams County. The first 100 registered attendees will be entered into a drawing for giveaways and receive a complimentary promotional bag. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Participating Brighton businesses will also offer discounts at their establishments to those who attend the competition.

The event is free, but please remember to register here to be eligible for giveaways. Bring a business card, too, if you have one.

Congratulations to the top ten finalists (listed in alphabetical order):

The Art Academy of Colorado (Brighton), Dingo Diner & Spa (Westminster), Garrett Brown Designs (Westminster), The Good Couch (Northglenn), High Country Catering (Brighton), [M]otherboard (Northglenn), Mother Tucker (Thornton), Murchak (Thornton), Satire Brewery (Thornton), and York Street Depot (Thornton).
