Robin Martinez is an internationally Certified Economic Developer, with over 15 years of experience in the Economic Development industry.  Robin was hired in October 2022 as the Director and CEO of Brighton Economic Development Corporation. Prior to joining the City of Brighton, she was the Local Business Administrator with the City of Thornton. Here she developed a fully encompassing small business support program to include designing and implementing the Alliance Business Assistance Center, a bilingual one-stop resource center for small businesses located throughout Colorado. She served as the Assistant Economic Development Director for the City of Brighton from 2012-2015. She has also worked in a variety of Economic Development roles for the City and County of Denver Economic Development, Denver International Airport, and the State of Colorado. Robin is an Adams County native, with her family roots dating back 5 generations in Colorado.

Michael Masciola

Michael Masciola's focus at the Brighton Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is on the attraction of industrial and office employers to the City.  He coordinates with City staff and a diverse group of strategic partners across the region to support employers looking to expand or relocate to the City.

Michael has over 25 years experience in economic development overseeing projects in the office, industrial, retail, aviation, housing and governmental sectors.   Prior to the Brighton EDC, Michael was an Industry Engagement Consultant for the Colorado Workforce Development Council.  His background also includes overseeing economic development for both public/private and municipal organizations in Fairfax County, VA, Colorado Springs, the Northern Colorado Region, Thornton, CO and West Chicago.  Michael is a graduate of the University of Colorado with an MBA in Finance.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Business Marketing and Regional Planning.

Mae Yang is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in the public and private sectors. With 12 years of public service and 8 years as a small business owner, Mae brings a wealth of knowledge to her current role. She holds a Master of Science in Criminology, specializing in laws and policy, and is deeply committed to addressing societal challenges, particularly in supporting ex-felons in their pursuit of equal employment opportunities, housing, and overall life improvements.

In her current role within the economic development efforts of the Greater Brighton community, Mae plays a vital role in developing and implementing programs and services that focus on business retention, attraction, expansion, and entrepreneurship. She provides support and maintains positive relationships with Brighton EDC investors and community stakeholders, serving as a customer-facing point of contact aligned with the mission of Brighton EDC.

 

Mae thrives as a self-motivated member of a small and dynamic team, driven by her commitment to excellent customer service and human relations skills that align with the values and mission of the City of Brighton and the Brighton EDC. Building and nurturing positive relationships is a central aspect of her role, actively engaging with the local business community, community partner organizations, Brighton EDC Board Members, and other stakeholders. She is currently working on developing a customized business outreach program, aimed to gaining insight into the local business environment and trends.

In fostering a thriving business community, Mae has successfully implemented and launched the Business Investment Grant program in Brighton. Her program has empowered businesses by providing them with access to capital, leading to reducing vacancy rates and expanding employment opportunities.  To date, Mae has awarded over $60,000 in grants to help small businesses stay competitive and thrive in the local economy. Her efforts have made a significant impact in supporting the growth and success of businesses in Brighton.
