More than 100 Business, Community Leaders gather to honor Five Award Recipients at BEDC Annual Awards Dinner

 

Brighton, CO – On Friday, August 3rd 2018 more than 100 business and community leaders attended the Brighton Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) Annual Awards Dinner at the Brighton Armory to reflect on and celebrate the business success that Brighton has witnessed over the last year.

 

Following brief remarks from U.S. Representative Mike Coffman, Michael Martinez, President/CEO of the Brighton Economic Development Corporation, gave an overview of the year highlighting that the business community is the backbone of our strong economy.

 

Earlier this summer, the BEDC Executive Committee identified and chose the five award winners for the evening:  

 

Awards

The Next Big Thing Award: The Next Big Thing Award recognizes outstanding achievement in Business Retention & Expansion or Entrepreneurial efforts that help promote jobs, capital investment and increasing community value.

 

2018 Award Recipient: The 76 Commerce Center

Community Partnership Award: The Community Partnership Award honors an individual or organization that embraces a spirit of regionalism and demonstrates distinction in promoting economic development throughout our community.

Accelerating Business Award: The “Accelerating Business” award is presented to a forward-thinking business or individual in Brighton that is positively changing the community while displaying the innovative spirit that embodies our history.

Strengthening Our Community Award: Strengthening Our Community honors an individual or organization which has been involved in economic development efforts and has demonstrated commitment to the future and long-term success of Brighton’s economy.
