Employment in Metro Denver decreased 4.6 percent between March 2020 and 2021, falling by 79,600 jobs. However, employment increased by 7,600 positions from February to March.
National retail sales activity rose 2.2 percent over-the-year in February, with nine of the 13 super sectors reporting increases during the period. Advanced data for the month of March predict retail sales to increase 17 percent from the same time last year and 9.8 percent from the prior month.
Residential building permits in Metro Denver totaled 2,169 units permitted in March, an increase of 83.3 percent, or 986 units, from the same time last year.
